Free 6 week beginners courses

Every summer we hold free beginners courses at Pixham Lane Sports Ground.

The next course will begin on Thurs 18th July 2024.

Suitable for complete beginners, 5k park runners and also anyone returning to running.  Each week of the course is a self contained block where you will not only run but learn running technique.  We all stay together in one place where we train on the field so you can go at your own pace and no one is left behind.  It's a great way to get fit and make new friends!  Missed the courses?  Please still contact us as many of our sessions as suitable for beginners.

Graham and Lesley Taylor
Graham and Lesley Taylor - Services to Athletics and Running - EA South East Region 2023

Congratulations to DMVAC’s Graham and Lesley Taylor who were deserved winners in this year’s English Athletics South East Region Volunteer Awards, presented on the evening of 15 November at Thames Valley AC clubhouse in Eton.

Graham and Lesley were judged joint winners in the Services to Athletics and Running category, sharing the winning position with Don Turner of Epsom and Ewell Harriers and Dennis Daly of Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow AC.

This continues DMVAC’s winning run at the awards, with Rob Russell being voted Coach of the Year at the same event last year.

The judge’s noted that Howard and Lesley: ‘…have given over 120 years to athletics and running. Both have competed at high level, have coached athletes, and are qualified officials. With involvement at club level, local schools and officiating at Surrey events, their dedication makes a huge difference to athletics for school children through to veterans.’

Well done to both of them. The award recognises all they do for the club as athletes, coaches and officials.
