“The Sprint Group welcomes young athletes in Year 9 and above (or about to go into Year 9) who wish to focus their athletics mainly on sprint running events (100m up to 400m, including relays). Our sessions focus on improving sprint technique and building anaerobic and aerobic fitness, as well as the underpinning movement skills of agility, balance, and coordination. In the summer, we also do some coaching in long jump, high jump, shot, and javelin.
We participate in friendly local athletics meetings against other local clubs, which are suitable for athletes of all abilities and experience levels. Athletes in our group are normally expected to be aiming to compete for the club.”

“Sessions are for endurance athletes that are starting to take running a bit more seriously. The sessions are run with competitive senior athletes in a friendly environment to help cover the transition from junior athletics to senior level.
Athletes are given sessions tailored to their individual goals. Throughout the training cycle, appropriate sessions are given on the track, on the hills and occasionally on the roads. We currently have athletes targeting such diverse events as track 800m, fell-running and road marathons but the group has a strong squad ethos where all athletes encourage, support and challenge each other, to bring out the best in everyone.”
